The dungeons were not exactly a pleasent place to be, at least not for this particular Gryffindor. Her high heels echoed around the gloomy hallway as she made her way to the potions classroom. Why the hell did she agree to give this note to Professor Slughorn in the first place? Wrinkling her nose at the situation, she then sighed dramatically when she realized she had no one to blame for this particular event seeing as she had been the one to offer her services to the Transfiguration teacher, not to be nice or helpful by any means, but instead to get out of class so she could find something else to do. At least that was better than starring out into space and snoozing on the uncomfortable desk. However, now she was slowly starting to regret her decision. Demelza hated being alone, being someone that was usually surrounded by massive amounts of people, this was a very humbling experience for her. Why didn't she just ask to drag someone along with her? To late to turn back now.
With a dramatic sigh, Demelza turned the corner, almost to the familiar potions classroom. As she reached it, the Gryffindor couldn't have been more relieved. Finally she was going to get out of the creepy dungeons. What exactly she planned on doing after that was a mystery, but there was no way in hell she was heading back to class. A few of her older friends were on break, so there was always the possibility of retreating to her common room to hang out with them for a while, not to mention there were sure to be some gorgeous boys that would be there as well. Her mind was made up, Demelza was determined to get rid of the note as soon as possible so that she could go spend the rest of the hour flirting while everyone else sat in boring class. She knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Rolling her eyes, the impulsive Gryffindor pulled on the door handle only to find out it was locked. Annoyed as ever she only grew more frustrated to find writing magically appear on the door, informing her the Professor Slughorn would be back in twenty minutes. "You have to be kidding me...” She muttered to herself, running her fingers through her dark brown hair. Just her luck.
The Gryffindor was very, very impatient. Anyone who knew her would have told you the exact same thing. It was no secret. There she was, alone in the dungeons, waiting. Three of her least favorite things all rolled up into one shitty package. Adjusting her shortend uniform skirt, she then leaned against the wall, waiting for the professor to return. God, this was boring. All for a stupid note. Seeing as she had already taken the pleasure of reading the note, she felt like the task was even more useless as time passed by. She hummed to herself for a while, half tempted to desert the note and leave the eerie corridor when she heard footsteps. Seizing her humming, she looked in the direction the steps were coming from. About bloody time. Not bothering to stand up straight, she waited for the person to appear from around the corner, hoping that it was Slughorn.

Veck decided to drag his lazy but out of the common room for once. Maybe he would go terrorize the great oaf of a potions master they now had. Even though he loved having Snape as a DADA teacher he was not happy with this Slughorn guy. He was annoying and pompous and treated students like pets. He tried to kiss up to students like him and keep them for trophies. He felt like he should teach this guy a lesson by blowing up his office. He walked swiftly down the halls his wand in hand and his boots clicking on the stone. He didnt have his robes on but a green sweater and a pair of black jeans with chains on them.
As he approached his destination he heard a humming noise. His steps slowed as he raised his wand slightly and got ready to attack. He slowly turned the corner and whipped his wand in front of him in an attacking posistion. He recognised the girl as a gryfindor right away. "You! What are you doing here?!",he barked quickly. He felt like he would have to take points away from this meddling girl. A lot of Gryfindors seemed to be wandering around their turf lately. He didn't like it one bit. It seemed like they were spying on them or something.

It was about bloody time. Now she could finally get out of these disgusting dungeons and up to the safety of her warm and cozy common room. Besides, she was in Slytherin Territory, and most Slytherins didn't seem to get along with her all that well. Hopefully they would all be in class by now and she wouldn't have to worry about it. However, she pulled out her wand anyway, just in case something were to happen. After all, you never know? Twirling the wand between her fingers, she waited for Slughorn to round the corner, eager to get rid of the stupid note. "Finally..." She muttered to herself, only to be very disappointed when she saw someone other than Slughorn headed toward her. Just peachy.
Instead of the plump professor, it was a boy, not much older than herself wearing green and black with his wand pointed directly at her. She immediately took offense, raising her own wand as well. "What do you mean? I go to school here, idiot. I can be wherever I want. Do we have a problem, kiddo?" Her temper was beginning to flair as she glared back at the boy. By the colors he was wearing, it was safe to assume he was either Slytherin or he enjoyed those particular colors. However, she had seen him around before and she was nearly positive the he belonged to the particular house. "I suggest you lower your wand now, before I make you. We don't want anyone to get hurt now, do we?"
It probably would have been easier to explain why she was there, but she decided to leave that part out. Her knuckles were turning white she was gripping her wand so tightly, prepared to jinx the boy if she had too.

"What do you mean? I go to school here, idiot. I can be wherever I want. Do we have a problem, kiddo?" Veck couldn't help but luagh at how the girl adressed him. Kiddo? Really? He was practically grown and deffinitly more mature then most people his age were. He was on the cusp of becomming a death eater for christ sake. He shrugged and put his wand away in his back pocket. "I suggest you lower your wand now, before I make you. We don't want anyone to get hurt now, do we?" These words simply amused Veck. It would be funny if she were to attack him. She would deffinitly end up in the Hospital Ward wether she was successfull or not out of sheer spite on his behalf. "What do we have here? Blatant dissrespect for a prefect? 10 points from Gryfindor girly.",he hissed. He leaned agaisnt the wall and jammed his hands in his pockets. "Anyway, girl....I have every right to question your where abouts. Gryfindor's have been up to suspect activity in these doungeons.", at least to him anyway. He was sure they were up to something. Many of those younger ones were so curious as to bug that boy Malfoy about his father being a death eater. There were rumors flying everywhere. And of course litt kids were nosey.

"Enough of that!!!" David spoke as he finally came around the corner. He was easily able to hear the arguement from the upper level. He sighed and then looked at the less mature 7th year slytherin male. He then stared at the female Gryffindor and smiled softy at her.
Looking away and back to Veck he spoke, "Do you know what being a prefect means? It means being just, passionate, vindicative, BUT it does not mean you whip your wand out at people randomly!! Nor do you deduct points from them either!!"
This was the eighteenth time he had to tell a prefect the rules. Usually it was a third or fifth year but he had never had to correct a seventh year prefect. David then shook his head lightly in utter amazement. "Did you ever think she was here because Professor Slughorn asked her to? Or is it that she could have possibly have a question? These are the things you should ask yourself in these type of situation. Remember that."
"Its good to see you again Demelza. Its been a few weeks." David smiled softly to her.

Demelza gritted her teeth as he laughed mockingly back at her. She barely knew him, but she already figured that they were not going to be the best of friends after this. When he finally lowered his wand, she lowered hers as well. There was no point of keeping it raised if there was no threat of him jinxing her back. As he spoke, she realized where she had seen him. Of course. He was a bloody prefect. That was just her luck, out of all the people to snap at, she picked someone who could take points away from her house, and he definitely did. Demelza opened her mouth in shock, clearly appalled and surprised at the same time. "No! You can't do that! If you are taking points away from me, you should take some points away from yourself too, seeing as you pretty much started it and did the same thing."
Placing her hands on her hips, she raised an eyebrow when he mentioned Gryffindors up to no good. "Oh really? Give me an example then." However, Demelza knew exactly what he was talking about. The aspiring prankster had spent quite a bit of time causing trouble down in the dungeons, whenever she wasn't talking or flirting. After all, it was fun and they were so easy to mess with, but she was not going to throw herself under the bus by any means. "And my name is not 'Girl', its Demelza," she replied, rolling her eyes at the Slytherin, not bothering to ask him for his own name.
Just as she was about to verbally attack him once more, the feisty Gryffindor jumped as a loud voice echoed throughout the corridor and another figure rounded the corner. She looked to see who it was, noticing the Head Boy of the school strutting toward them. It was David, a boy she had met near the beginning of the year who also happened to be in Slytherin. Expecting him to yell at her as well, she was pleasantly surprised when he didn't and turned to his fellow Slytherin instead. Demelza couldn't help but smirk victoriously as the boy was scolded, "Yeah, ask yourself those questions in this type of situation!" She repeated after David, resisting the urge to stick her tongue out at the prefect. She was slightly surprised as the older student turned to face her, smiling, but regardless she smile back. "Heya, what's up, buttercup? Oh! That rhymes!"

"No! You can't do that! If you are taking points away from me, you should take some points away from yourself too, seeing as you pretty much started it and did the same thing."
Veck grunted, "Your to sensitive you hypocritical vixen.",he hissed. "Theres no crime about having your wand out. Besides I wouldn't waste my time hexing you, your not worth it.",he turned his head as the head boy came up.
"Oh look...If it isn't mr.pansy.",he said in a mocking tone. He listend with a smirk on his face. Clearly this boy didn't know anything about him. One, Veck was a cautios person by nature. Two he didn't attack her and she showed a blatant lack of respect for a prefect. But leave it to David to be a bloody party killer.
"Did you ever think she was here because Professor Slughorn asked her to? Or is it that she could have possibly have a question? These are the things you should ask yourself in these type of situation. Remember that."
"Did you ever consider the fact I can't see through walls?",he retorted. Honestly how was he supposed to know who was around the hall or what they were doing.
"You people all disgust me",he mutterd in Japanese as he stalked off. He flipped his hair and galred at them both before he did so how ever.
