Her heart was beating a mile per minute and the redhead unknowingly jumped at every noise whether it was merely the wind or a small animal in the distance. With a nervous jump, she waded through the tall grass in her zebra flats, wishing she had just picked truth in the first place. The sun had set, but if you looked hard enough at the horizon you could see glimpses of dark reds and purples as the night sky began to take over. Her wand out in front of her, Ginny pushed a strand of hair out of her face before whipping around to face the giggling group of girls that stood a bit away, waiting anxiously on the other side of the fence to see if the bold Gryffindor would actually go through with her task. With a desperate sigh, she yelled back to her friends, running her hand through long hair as she spoke. "Do I really have to do this?" The answer was just as she expected, her friends nodded in agreement and shooed her along. Ginny laughed along with them, reassuring them that if they tried anything funny than she would cut their hair when they were sleeping. With that, she turned on her heel and started up toward the abandoned, old house. The shrieking shack.
Truth or Dare always managed to get Ginny in to trouble, now being a perfect example seeing as she was preparing herself to charge into the haunted landmark all by herself. The risky Gryffindor never bothered to stay safe with the option of truth. She would much rather do something fun and bold that would attract a lot of attention and giggles from her friends. Her task before this one had involved licking a stranger’s chin and the one before that had been to run up and down the streets of Hogsmeade screaming that she liked women. Of course her current dare had made the rest look like nothing. The shrieking shack was off limit, she being in there could get her in serious trouble. Maybe they would take away her precious position on the Quidditch team? Or maybe they would go as far as expelling her? Ginny gulped again as she tried to think positive. Even if she did chicken out she would never hear the end of it and that would mean she lost. Ginny Weasley never lost.
All she had to do was last ten minutes in the haunted house, alone. How hard would that be? As long as she thought happy things and kept herself focused, it wouldn't be a problem. Finally, she came to the creaky, ancient door of the forbidden house and she turned one last time to wave at her friends. A forced giggle escaped her lips when she saw the look of shock on their faces, their doubts vanishing as Ginny reached for the handle. The bold Gryffindor swore that she could hear her heartbeat, and her palms were beginning to sweat as she gripped the rusty, iron knob. With very little effort, the door creaked open and revealed a dark and horrid smelling room. Her legs like jello, she finally managed to make her way into the shack only to have the door slam shut behind her. A surprise scream escaped her lips and she jumped as darkness enveloped her. Ginny pulled out her wand and tried to catch her breath. With a simple flick of it and a useful spell, light emitted from the top and bathed a portion of the room in light. Her eyes scanned her surroundings before she took a step toward the dusty and broken stairs. As long as she was here, she might as well explore?

Singing to herself Luna 'Loopy' Lovegood danced through the fallen leaves, that smoothed the cold ground like a layer of icing in which decorated a cake. Humming to herself she felt a hundred percent comfortable in her surroundings, everything was perfect. Will indeed it was to her, but actually the wizarding world around her was in chaos. Rumours of the Dark Lords return was all that she heard at Hogwarts. Everybody was in such a fluster of panic it was beginning to irritate the young blonde, whom which was extremely hard to irritate. After all Luna knew just probably more than the majority at Hogwarts about the Dark Lord; after all she had battled against the death eaters amongst her new-found friends, in the Department of Mysteries at the end of last year. Nonetheless, none of that bothered Luna. Indeed she was a carefree spirit which lived every day like it was her last. Nothing could dampen this child's hopes and dreams.
It was beginning to grow dark now, and the security at Hogwarts would be tightening, maybe it was time she was heading back. Letting out a satisfied sigh she threw herself to the ground. The crunching of the autumn leaves let out a small sigh as she landed on them. Her eyes danced excitedly as she looked up at the night sky full of hope. The reds and purples looked oh so pretty as the darkness began to fight against them, how ironic; it seemed that darkness was prevailing this time. Letting up a small laugh she giggled at the thought. "Darkness may prevail this time, but come the morning....the light will be the true way!" Luna said aloud as she smiled to herself.
Leaves embedded in her hair she turned her attention to the Shrieking Shack. Rumours had circulated that place for years upon years, she was always so intrigued by it. It was only a building. I small squeal escaped her lips as she noticed something. Squealing with excitement, the fearless (or naive) blonde soared through field, her boots growing damper as she went.
Eventually she reached the shack and bolted through the door. Suddenly she stooped dead in her tracks, calming herself to her usual hippy-like stooper. "Now Luna, you must remember, no sudden movements. Blibbering Humdinger's are extremely shy creatures. Easy does it Luna." Smiling her usual smile she slowly walked into the kitchen where she saw the magnificent beast standing. "Now there poppet, what brings you to this smelly place?" She said as if her voice was lighter than air, as she stroked its back.
A surprised scream suddenly filled the shack, causing the Blibbering Humdinger to knock the Ravenclaw off her feet as it galloped away terrified. Absolutely distraught, Luna ran to where the scream came from. Pointing her wand at the screams barer, she screwed her eyes up as she peered through the darkness trying to make sense of who it could be. "Excuse me, but I'm Luna, and you seem to have caused my Blibbering Humdinger to leave. Could you help me find him please?" [/blockquote]

The Gryffindor hated darkness as it was, weeks prior to this if you would have told her to intrude inside the Shrieking Shack she would have laughed in your face and walked away. The only reason she was doing it now was because of her longing to win everything she took part in. Her competitive streak had always driven her to drastic situations, much like this. Ginny’s eyes quickly adjusted to the blackness and she took a couple deep, shaky breaths. Her eyes were set on the staircase on the far side of the room, her heart beating so loudly that she was positive she could hear it. After she reached the base of the steps, she came to a stop, examining them carefully. A few appeared to be broken, and others were covered in layers of dust, just the condition alone making them look less inviting than they already had. Wrinkling her nose, she took a few small steps back and froze once more, her wand still out in front of her.
The light emitted from the tip of her wand slowly started to dim, causing the Gryffidor to sigh quietly as darkness fell once more. Her fright seemed to weaken her magic, making the situation far freakier that it already was. Creaks and eerie noises filled her ears, causing a silent panic to wash over her. Circling to find the door just to reassure herself, she found her palms sweating. Finally, she flicked her wand once more and muttered the spell, shining more light on the situation. Suddenly, it wasn't that bad. With her fears eased now that her corner of the room was bathed in light, she contemplated on staying or leaving. After all, it was only a matter of time before her friends shouted for her to come out, right?
It was funny how Ginny could speed through the air with a colossal risk of death and have heavy, iron balls hurtling toward her head and think of it as fun. Here she was, standing alone in darkness and tempted to give up. She had never given up on a Quidditch match before, had she? And she wasn't giving up on this. With a smile to reassure herself, she started toward the opposing side of the room which revealed the opening to a hall way. A few steps in, and the door slammed open, causing her to jump and a small shriek to fly from her lips. Ginny quickly whipped around, her wand raised only to find Luna Lovegood standing before her, with her wand raised as well. Ginny smiled, relieved that she was not longer alone in the eerie house. Luna always managed to make her smile, the blondes odd expressions were enough to cheer her up even on her worst days. “Luna, what on earth are you doing here?” She asked as she lowered her wand. The Ravenclaw didn’t seem to recognize her in the dark. “It’s me, Ginny! And find your what?”

Thoughts suddenly raced through the unique Ravenclaw’s mind, as she realised where she was and who she could be pointing her wand at. After all, this shack had been the host many distressing times...The darkness seemed to be inching closer to the petite blonde by the second, the thick smell of rotting wood grew heavier as her heart began to accelerate. “Luna, what on earth are you doing here... It’s me, Ginny! And find your what?” The familiar voice punched its way slowly through the musty air. Lowering her wand immediately a wave of relief flew over her, killing off the moment of panic. Luna’s famous carefree grin grew on her face as she rushed over to her Gryffindor friend. “Ginny!” She said with glee, with her slow airy tone. Gently she took the red heads hand and entwined her fingers with hers. “Blibbering Humdinger.” Luna said as if it was obvious. “I was dancing in the field and admiring the sunset, when I saw him...well I say him, I presume it’s a he...the females tend to stay in groups you see.”
Leading the way she guided Ginny to the kitchen where she was previously. “...No not in here, they tend to return to where they feel comfortable, I hope he was comfortable with me.” Letting go of Ginny’s hand she walked over to the fridge. It seemed that it would have previously been white when it was new, but it’s current surroundings made it look hideous. The brown and green mould that was growing on it let off a foul smell which made her flinch. Holding her nose she reached out to open it, not because she would want to eat anything that grew rotten in there, simply because she was curious.
Suddenly for no apparent reason she stopped at turned to Ginny. “Ginny, if I may ask, what brings you here? Seems like a funny place for you to meet Harry for a date.”

The shack was certainly an intimidating place, even for the bold Gryffindor. The smell was overpowering, and the darkness was overwhelming. However, light didn’t really help the situation all that much either. It only made things look ten times worse than one could have imagined they were. Thick layers of dust coated everything in site, almost like there was a gray blanket draped over each and every object. It was not exactly the best site, but the noises that came from the house were enough to make your spine tingle. The creaks and moans that the distressed wood made continuously caused the redhead to jump, even though she knew what the source of the noise was, she couldn't help but worry.
Now that Luna had made a surprising appearance, all that seemed to be much less scary than it had moments ago. The familiar blonde continued to raise her was even as Ginny lowered hers, but them moment she recognized the Gryffindors voice, hers had lowered as well. Of all the people that could turn up, Luna had to be the best possible one. The two had been close friends for some time now, and Luna had always served as the perfect person to confide in when Ginny had no one to talk too. The redhead's features were masked with confusion as Luna explained the creature that she had seemed to lose. In all her days of Care of Magical Creatures, Ginny had never heard of such a thing. She smiled and shook her head, good ole' Luna. Though she was skeptical about the Blibber-whatever, she followed her into the kitchen. "Well, what exactly does it look like?" Ginny asked, still slightly confused.
Luna then reached toward the fridge, covered in smelly molds and substances of every color. The Gryffindor's eyes widened. The stench alone was bad enough, she could only image how much worse it would be if Luna opened the fridge. Ginny wasn't sure if she could bear with the dare if things smelled much worse. Just as she opened her mouth to warn Luna, the blonde turned around, making a comment that caused Ginny's cheeks to match the color of her hair. "Oh, um. No, Luna. Harry and I are not on a date, we are not even dating. I-um. I was playing truth or dare and I picked dare and Melinda dared me to stay in here for ten minutes. So, here I am. And please don't open that Luna, it looks repulsive. I am sure what is inside can't be much better."

Luna stared at Ginny, eyes wide, probably looking a bit like a high puppy if truth be told. Luna had that whole kind of aura about her. Nothing bad could happen in Luna’s world. Nothing could dampen her spirits, boy you could try; but you’d have to give it a real good try to succeed. People described Luna as ‘loopy’ but really she was just a young girl who appreciated nature; muggles would probably describe her as a bit of a hippy. She defiantly had that ‘peace and love’ vibe going on. The sad thing was though, that people never stopped to thing why she was the way she was, positive and carefree; happy and at one with the world. After witnessing her Mothers death at such an early age, you would have thought she would be an extremely troubles and distrurbed young girl, negative and pessimistic. But however harsh it was to say, it seemed that the death of Luna’s Mother had a positive effect on the Ravenclaw. Giving her a brighter more optimistic outlook on life.
"Oh, um. No, Luna. Harry and I are not on a date, we are not even dating. I-um. I was playing truth or dare and I picked dare and Melinda dared me to stay in here for ten minutes. So, here I am. And please don't open that Luna, it looks repulsive. I am sure what is inside can't be much better."
Luna looked at Ginny with her head on one side for a second. Peering into the Gryffindor’s head through her eyes, not in an interregional way, simply an interested way; it was Luna’s art of caring. Pulling away the eye contact she looked back at the fridge, “Well if you ask me Harry likes you, and you like Harry. Two clever people like you should accept it and make babies, I mean...this life is so complicated and people refuse to face facts. You two shouldn’t ignore that.” Luna said breezily as she gazed around the room hazily, still looking for her creature.
Ignoring the significance and bluntness of her last words she turned and faced the direction of the door in which appeared to be the entrance to the shack. “They’re invisible creatures, they only appear every now and then, but when you see them they’re very much horse-like. A bit like thestrals, you can only see them however if you believe in them. A bit like fairies...” Grabbing Ginny’s hand again she led her towards the stairs, “I suppose I’m a bit like a fairy really...you could be a fairy to in a way Ginny.” Pulling her friend gently she guided her towards the stairs. “What a strange place to be dared to go into, it’s not particularly frightening...more interesting than anything.” [/blockquote]

Any topic regarding Harry Potter literally stalked Ginny everywhere she went. People talked about him constantly and at times it was a little annoying. The redhead found herself clarifying or standing up for the fellow Gryffindor on numerous situations, only to be accused of liking him. Of course, it wasn't any secret that Ginny did have a little thing for Harry, though seeing as he had no intention to get with her, she put him on the backburner for a little while. After all, Ginny knew she couldn't revolve her life around him, not when there were other opportunities right in front of her face. She couldn't put her life on hold to wait for him to come around, not anymore anyway.
Now she was slightly embarrassed at her friend’s words. In fact, she continued to blush as moments passed by. "Oh, um. I don't really think so. We are just friends and he comes over a lot to see Ron, nothing other than that, but if I do decide to make babies with him you will be the first to know Luna" Ginny replied with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood a little. Though the Gryffindor denied their obvious chemistry, she knew that Luna was right. Why couldn’t it be as easy as the blonde made it seem?
Thankfully, Ginny didn't have to dwell on the topic for much longer, seeing as Luna was off talking about the mysterious, unfamiliar creature she had apparently chased into the shack. The Gryffindor smiled genuinely at her dear friend. Some of the things that came out of her mouth were pretty creative at times. "Just like fairies, got you. So I just need to concentrate?" She asked, actually trying rather than giggling at Luna like most. As Luna took her hand, the Shack didn't seem as terrifying anymore. In fact, it was not any worse than the dungeons to be honest. "I can see you as one, but how on earth am I?" She chuckled, trying to picture herself as one of the fairies her brothers had told her about.
Taking another glance around the abandoned house as Luna lead her to the stairs, she nodded in agreement. "I know, I wasn't going to do it at first, but I couldn't stand the thought of losing. We are not going up those stairs are we? Doesn't look to safe..."

If Luna was a Slytherin, at this moment a smirk would have been plastered on her face. Actually most people would have smirked at Ginny’s denial; especially her dear friends brother, Ron. It was defiantly more than a rumour that Ginny and Harry had a certain liking for one another, but to Luna it was more than that. The oddball Ravenclaw always had a way with words, one way of describing her was that she spoke before he mind told her not too. Nonetheless, however blunt the eccentric blonde seemed, she would always make her bluntness seem sweet and innocent; which of course she was. The motherless fifth year didn’t have a bad bone in her body.
As the two friends approached the stairway leading to the first floor, Luna pondered at the Harry/Ginny situation. Grinding to a halt, still hand in hand with the Gryffindor, Luna paused and looked directly at her friend; the permanent cloudy glaze over her face apparent, as she spoke. “I don’t understand why if two people like each other they don’t just admit it. Rumours only start when people are secretive. If everyone was just open with one another, we wouldn’t have these problems...”
Continuing towards the un-nerving looking stairs, Luna thought of herself and Ginny as fairies, fluttering around a meadow and sundown. “You're petite like a fairy Ginny, with your red hair you would be quite a bold and fiery fairy; but your caring and kind personality defiantly nails it. I think most Gryffindors would make amazing fair-creatures.” Looking up the stairs a slight puzzled expression greeted her face for change. “I think you’re right there, not to safe. Do you think we would get into trouble if we apparated? I’m worried about the poor humdinger...” [/blockquote]

At the moment, Ginny was currently dating Dean, their relationship was rather rocky. The two managed to argue frequently and certainly did butt heads a lot for a couple. However, at the same time Dean was everything she usually looked for in a guy. He was athletic, funny and could put her temper in place when ever it decided to flare up. It was just that sometimes they were a little to similar for their relationship, and Dean was just a little on the jealous side. While Ginny did her best to brush things off, Dean held on to every little thing, and could be extremely controlling at times, but still, she loved him and not Harry. Well, she did like Harry a lot, especially after their summer experiences together, but it was just unrealistic. Besides, she still had Dean
As they journeyed further into the house, Ginny had thought that Luna had dropped the whole 'Harry' deal, but of course she had not. Once again, the blush returned to Ginny's pale cheeks and she laughed nervously. "Oh come on Luna! Let's just drop it, yeah? I mean, I have Dean anyways and I like him a lot." She hoped that might have settled it, though the blush continued to stay on her cheeks as red as her hair.
Thankfully, she did not have to worry about the awkward topic for much longer. They had continued to explore the house, Ginny behind Luna and staying alert just in case they managed to run into a dangerous situation. Ginny smiled as Luna described to her what kind of fairy she might be. The Gryffindor liked the idea of being a fairy, mostly because she would be able to fly without a broomstick and she would be able to leave school drama behind. "Really? You think so? What kind of fairy would you be Luna?" Genuinely interested on the topic of fairies, she was caught off-guard at Luna's question. "Wait, you can apparate?!" The blonde was full of surprises, it was literally never-ending, but it always managed to amuse Ginny regardless.
