Out in the dark woods in the outskirts of London, lies a large mansion that seems abandoned. And with good reason when you think about it. All of the inheritants of the mansion were supposed to be locked up in Azkaban after all. But never theless you could see a figure walking up the old creaking wooden stairs and hear the door creak open? Who would dare to enter the old manor of the Lestrange family? Non other then Rebastan Lestreange of course. He had been tired of his old little flat in London and wanted to visit the home he hadn't been to since he was a lad. He still had the key after all. He carried it with him everywhere and now was a good time to use it. He peeked his head into the doorway, his hair dishevled and hanging over his face a bit from the long and ttreachorous walk here. When he thought about it, it would have been smarter to just Apparate here but he wanted to see his old hide outs in the woods. He and his brother Rodoulphous used to have so much fun here. He walked into the old hall and was glad to see that it was stil in great condition. There was barely any dust here and the furniture was still as neat and orderly as ever. Thats when he rememberd. The old house elf! Thats probably why it was so neat. The elf had never been dissmissed. He was a lot more alert now, for he knew that old thing had hated him as a boy and he didnt want to have to deal with it. He would probably hex the little nuisance if he saw him.

Narcissa watched Rabastan as he walked up to the old manor. It was a beautiful old place. She couldn't quite understand why he didn't want to live there. She strolled down the rather long path of the estate, taking in it's surroundings. As she neared the door, she wondered whether he would let her in. They used to get along well as children, he always used to make her laugh but then somehow, she got bored of it. She reached the bottom step of the house, an slowly climbed up. He'd left the front door wide open. She rolled her eyes. Typical. She watched him as he stood in the great hall. "Some things never change, do they?" she asked, amused that the house elf obviously still kept the big old house tidy after all those years. "I'm surprised the dark lord didn't choose here for his new hideout." she said, strolling over to his side.

Rebastan turned on his heel the second he heard footsteps, his wand out and at the ready. He was not about to be killed in his own house. Well, he wasnt going to be killed anywhere actually but especially not in his own house. He tensed ready to fire the worst spell he could think of. The killing curse...He was extremely quick on his spell draw and notorious for being able to kill someone in an instant. Unfortnitly his attention was taken away from the doorway as he saw movement out of the corner of his eye. That stupid house elf had walked by in the living room, whimpering about something. He blasted an accio spell at the chair so that it flew foward and hit the elf.
He then turned back to the doorway as he saw Narcissa standing there. He scowled at her but had to agree with her statement. she was right....Some things never did change. She was proof if she had seriously decided to come visist the Lestrange Manor. At least it showed she still cared about them to some degree. They had gotten along better when they were kids. It wasnt untill the got older that things had started to change. He stayed silent as she walked over to him. He couldnt think of anything snarky to say for once. The nolstagia of the house and the memories that flooded him kept him from that. He was just glad to be here again.
"Guess he figured the Ministry might be keeping an eye on it.",he said with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
Which was true enough. The Ministry probably had this place on red alert when they had broken out of Azkaban. But Rabastan had been smart enough to stay away. He was not about to risk being thrown back into that place. It had made him even worse then he was before he got thrown into azkaban. Those demetors do something to you. They make you go crazy. They drain the life out of you. It's horrible what they do to a person. They take away all your happiness and leave you an empty souless shell. It was a good thing that they hadn't gotten to Rabastan that much. He was to powerfull mentally to let the dementors get to him. It seemed that way for most of the Lestrange family. Though he couldnt say the same for somethe of the other Death Eaters they, they had been scarred for life it seemed.

She raised her brow. What? no firery remark? "Rabastan, where did it all go wrong?"she muttered, as she sighed miserably. She knew people changed, but surely not that much. She watched the old house elf as it dragged itself back to its feet and started to yell a load of abuse at Rabastan. "BE QUIET! HOW DARE YOU SPEAK YOU YOUR MASTER IN THAT TONE!" She barked at it. Irritating ugly, ungrateful fool, she thought. She placed a hand on Rabastan's shoulder. "Can't we forget all of this nonsense?" she asked. She knew Lucius was the culprate. He hated Rabastan. She only hated Rabastan when he mocked Lucius, but then again, so did everyone.

Rabastan shrugged his shoulders as if he didnt really care all that much. He knew when it went wrong. It went wrong when Malfoy came into the picture. Lucuis was always the person that brought out the worst in him. The two had dispised each other the moment they had met. He never quite understood why he had always felt the need to berate Rabastan but eventually instead of just taking it quietly he fought back with his own venom. The older they got the less useless bickering they did and the more subtle venom they used. Though Rabastan was always so dramatic that he said it out in the open by mocking him. But that rivalry had also driven Narcissa and him apart. Bella not so much since she didnt seem to care Lucuis that much either. But life had been so much simpler when it was just the Blacks and the Lestranges.
"If I could turn back time, I think I would.",he remarked as he stared at the doorway.
"I wouldn't have let Lucuis' comments get to me. Maybe I would have even tried to befriend him.",he heard the house elf get up and start to say something and smirked when Narcissa started yelling at it/
"So what brings you back here?",he asked out of curiosity.

"I'm not blaming you," she said quietly.
She shrugged at his question, not really knowing what she was doing there. Mainly she just wanted to see if the place had changed. No, perhaps it was guilt. At one point, she had almost been in separable from Rabastan, until her father introduced her to Lucius. She uttered a sigh, deciding to pick her words carefully before she opened her mouth to speak. "I just came to see you," she finished, knowing it was probably one of the worst excuses she could have come up with, but it was true.
