It was the same as any other night. The sky dark, the air thick, the smell of dampness in the air danced towards the brunette as she stood poised gazing into the night sky. There was no doubt about it. The love she felt for the night was growing stronger as she ventured out more. The speckles of stardust shone down on the Slytherin below, illuminating her stance. The brunette waves which framed her face to perfection, glowed into the night sky, her blue eyes dancing in the moonlight. The Black Lake a few metres from the Forbidden Forest was where she stood. Each grain of grass frozen solid, so that it could not sway in the slight wind. Being the hated Slytherin that she was, she indeed enjoyed her own company. Other folk simply did not care to be in her presence, well except from her usual Slytherin folk. This did not matter all that much to her though, Pansy did not care for others who showed little respect.
There was no particular reason she was here tonight; just to admire the beauty around her. Her green dress blew behind her as she looked up to the moon, her cloak following. The very image must have looked like a movie still for passers by. Inhaling deeply, she smiled as the scents of the lake and the nearby forest reached her nose. The whole scene before her eyes began to overpower her. The moonlight danced on the lake before her, creating fairy-like shapes as they glided across the surface. Hogwarts, her home, was the main feature; taking up the majority of the horizon in the distance. It was only now she realised just how far away from the castle she was...almost touching the Forbidden Forest...where the majority of students ventured into, to seek cheap thrills. Tears brimmed her eyelids as she admired the magic and beauty of the night, wishing someone was there to share it with her.
Sighing she held back the tears. There was no need to cry, everything was so perfect...but it was growing all too much for her. Lying down on the cold damp grass she put her head back, and gazed up to the stars, listening to the music of the night; now realising how truly alone she really was. [/blockquote]

Draco walked silently through the grounds, neither going somewhere nor leaving anywhere, just simply walking. The cold air had hit him hard as he stepped out of the castle doors, but it was refreshing. The air was crisp, yet damp, and the dew off of the grass was slowly seeping through the leather of his shoes with every step he took.
Further, he walked. The Black Lake was drawing him in closer, it's pristine surface reflecting perfectly the stars and the moon, and the clouds drifting by. As he walked, he spotted the most beautiful figure. Unsure if she was real or imagined, he moved closer, observing her. The woman lay down on the frozen grass, and Draco was able to see her face; Pansy. If the castle hadn't forbidden it, he would have strode up the stairs to her dormitory in an instant, yet here she was.
At first glance, Pansy had looked peaceful, and content. But now, only a dozen metres away, Draco could see that she was silently crying. He sat down above her, ignoring the cold ground. He lifted her head and moved forward so that she was resting on his leg.
"Don't cry, Pansy. The world isn't worth your tears," he told her as he moved his thumb across her cheeks, wiping her tears, and hopefully her sadness, from her.

Lying there gazing up into the star-lit sky, Pansy thought silently to herself. The school year had barely been started and Halloween was approaching, but it already had begun to take its toll, not only on her but on everyone around her. The Dark Lord rising to power once more was enough to scare the entire wizarding community into a pack of quivering dogs. The entire school quaked in the fear that the death eaters would find a way in. Pathetic Potter and his crew however had faith in Dumbledore, one of the worlds most powerful wizards. Nonetheless Pansy was not as optimistic, her parents were Voldemort supporters, therefore she knew the old man was past it. There was no help for them now.
Well at least the serenity of the night was enough to let her ease the trials and tribulations of the second month of her sixth year. Blinking away the tears she began to grow angry at herself for being so weak. Imagine if someone saw her? Her whole Slytherin reputation would fall to ashes at her feet. Well...not really, she would hex them on the spot if they so much as dared poke fun at her. After all she was only human, there was only so much she could take.
So enwrapped in her own thoughts she failed to hear the sound of hundred of strands of frozen grass being slowly flattened by another. As her thoughts deepened in just how she would get through this year ahead of her Draco Malfoy appeared in a flash beside her. Jumping a little in shock of his sudden appearance she blinked at him in bewilderment, as he gently took her head and placed it on his leg. Her relationship with Draco had always been a forever changing one, but last year it had developed into something more since her spat with the Greengrass girl. Much to his Mothers displeasure, but to his Aunt Bella’s favouring; Pansy seemed to have fallen under the category of Draco’s girlfriend. However she had not expected to see him tonight, he was being annoyingly secretive at the moment. Forever in the Room of Requirement, up to business for the Dark Lord she presumed. She daren’t ask him about it, his temper had been flaring up all too much recently; hence the shock of his sincerity now. She loved him when he was like this, caring and loving. He never did show it when others were watching, and of course she understood why; like her he had an image to uphold.
Smiling up it him she looked at him under the starlight, her head still resting on his knee; his icy eyes twinkling in the moonlight. His kind words ringing in her head. “Thank you Draco." She said smiling at his touch. "I'm sorry, I know I shouldn’t be out here, I thought you were with Blaise or in the Room of Requirement...I just needed some air.” She said nervously, hoping his temper wouldn’t flare up. She loathed feeling this way around him, he never used to be like this. He was so easy to be around. But the Dark Lord had chosen him for something, and it frightened her, and she knew it frightened him. “What brings you out here so late?” Curling into him slightly she closed her eyes, her tears drying up; she wasn’t alone after all.
